ATR

ATR (Aerei da Trasporto Regionale or Avions de transport régional) is a French-Italian aircraft manufacturer, headquartered on the grounds of Toulouse Blagnac International Airport in Blagnac, France.
ATR was formed in 1981 by Aérospatiale of France (now Airbus SE) and Aeritalia (from 1990 Alenia Aeronautica, from January 2012 Alenia Aermacchi, from 1 January 2016 Finmeccanica, from 1 January 2017 Leonardo) of Italy. Its primary products are the ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft.

ATR 42

The ATR 42 is a twin-turboprop, short-haul regional airliner. The name "42" comes from the aircraft's standard seating, which varies from 40 to 52. The ATR 42-300 was announced in 1981, making its maiden flight on 16 August 1984; French and Italian certification followed in September 1985.
