Fairchild Dornier was created in 1996 after the takeover of Dornier's civil assets in 1996 by Fairchild Industries, the former Fairchild Aviation Corporation. The company became insolvent in early 2002.
Fairchild Dornier Do 328JET
The Fairchild-Dornier 328JET is a commuter airliner, based on the turboprop-powered Dornier 328. The 428JET was a proposed stretched variant.
The declining commercial success of the 328JET meant that Fairchild-Dornier was unable to finance the development of further models. The 328JET was therefore the last commercial aircraft to be produced before the company became insolvent in 2002.
