Aviat Aircraft Inc. is an American manufacturer of sport and utility aircraft based in Afton, Wyoming. Founded in 1939 as CallAir by Ruel Call. In 1991 the company was sold and renamed Aviat Inc. In 1991 Christen Industries and in 1994 the production rights of the Pitts Special were bought. In 1995 the company was sold again and renamed Aviat Aircraft Inc. It is the oldest continuously operating aircraft manufacturer in the United States.
Certified versions of the Pitts Special are produced by Aviat Aircraft in Afton, Wyoming.
