Singapore Airlines (SIA), founded 1 May 1947, is the flag carrier of Singapore with hub at Singapore Changi Airport.
The SIA Group includes various airline-related divisions and subsidiaries. SIA Engineering Company handles maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business across nine countries, with a portfolio of 27 joint ventures, including with Boeing and Rolls-Royce. Singapore Airlines Cargo operates SIA's freighter fleet and manages the cargo-hold capacity in SIA's passenger aircraft. Other subsidiaries are SilkAir (regional flights to secondary cities), Scoot (low-cost carrier) and Vistara (joint venture with Tata Sons from India).
Singapore Airlines is member of Star Alliance and of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA).
It was one of the founders of Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise, later BOC Aviation.
